Eat & Earn at Lambeau Field at Lambeau Field

Last September, the Green Bay Packers announced expansion plans for Lambeau Field, a project that will include approximately 6,600 new seats in the south end zone and a new gate and rooftop viewing platform in the north end zone. The project also involves some of the following attributes:
- Themed areas with some indoor concession environments.
- Ten elevators and escalators to efficiently move fans in and out of the stadium.
- A new stadium gate and additional ADA entrance and exit point.
- A rooftop viewing terrace for use by club-seat holders on game day and for special events on other days.

From 11am to 1pm there will be an AIA NE WI Eat 'N' Earn at the Lambeau Field atrium where the general contractor will show some of the BIM tools being used for visualization, scheduling, collaboration, coordination and design reviews. Following the presentation, tours will be given of the construction site and the stadium (please bring your own hard-hat and safety glasses if you have them). Attendance will be limited, so plan in advance and RSVP if you are attending this event.

Miron Construction, Neenah, has been selected as the general contractor for the project. Hammes Company Sports Development Inc., Madison, serves as the construction manager and Elkus Manfredi is the project's design architect. The following learning objectives will be addressed by the general contractor during the presentation and site tour:

  1. Participants will be able to observe how Building Information Modeling (BIM) is being used as a visualization tool for the project team.
  2. Project phasing, site planning and sequencing using the virtual model will be demonstrated.
  3. Coordination of existing conditions and modifications required for renovation work and use of a robotic total station for layout.
  4. Collaboration and coordination of multiple design models will be demonstrated.

The project is expected to employ approximately 1,600 workers in the Wisconsin's construction industry over the next two years and is scheduled to be completed for the 2013 season.
