Hike - Rose River Falls

Another great hike! Two water falls in one hike. Will, our trusty "hiking guru," will first lead us down to Rose River Falls. You won't forget this waterfall!! It may not be the tallest in the Park but it is always impressive..especially after a heavy rain there may be two, three, or even four parallel falls down the rocks instead of just one. From there we will go downriver to Dark Hollow Falls, another of the park favorites. Park at Fishers Gap Overlook at mile 49.4 on the west side. It is a moderate hike of around 4.5 miles. You will definitely find it hard to leave these beautiful cascades deep in the forest! I think we can do this one in about 3 1/2 hours depending on how much time we linger (and we usually do...) Make sure to bring water, a light lunch or snack, and your camera. After the hike, please join us at Skyland for a picnic and a bit of after-hike snack and conversation. It is only about 8 miles towards home on Skyline drive. CARPOOLING for this hike is encouraged. Please mention in your RSVP whether you need a ride or can provide a ride.
