Estrangement Support Group
Pine Rest offers a support group for parents and family members of adult children who have chosen to refuse contact or give access to their contact information.
Having an estranged child often leads to frustration, sadness and guilt. This professionally facilitated support group allows people to share their experiences of estrangement from adult children. The support group is led by clinician Jim Vander May, LMSW. Among other topics, Vander May specializes in helping individuals cope with and manage parent/child conflicts.
The estrangement support group is held every second Monday of the month from 7 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. at the Pine Rest Southwest Clinic at 4211 Parkway Place, Suite100, Grandville. There is no charge for the group, but registration is required. For questions or to register call (616)222-3700.
