About Forest History Center in Grand Rapids, MN
Description
After visiting a 1930s Minnesota Forest Service patrolman's cabin, don't forget to climb to the top of the 100-foot-tall fire tower to take in views of the forest in the Grand Rapids area. Walk the three nature trails for quiet and colorful views of the Mississippi River, and for information on trees and forestry. Find out how forests have shaped human culture for centuries, providing the necessities for life. Bring your lunch and eat at the convenient picnic tables.
Special programs are offered at the Forest History Center every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Join us in the logging camp for log rolling, sleigh loading, cooking demonstrations, storytelling and more.
