Start Point Address / Driving Directions:
Yavapai Point, South Rim, Grand Canyon National Park 85023. The registration point is in Flagstaff, 80 miles away at the Ramada Limited, 2755 Woodlands Village Blvd, Flagstaff, AZ 86001. From I-40: Exit 195 North onto 89A. Immediately, take Exit 341 (McConnell Dr). Turn left on McConnell Dr to traffic light. Turn left on Beulah to next traffic light. Turn right on woodlands Village Blvd. Hotel is on left.From I-17: Continue under I-40 and immediately take Exit 341, then as above. Event Description: Beautiful Sunrise to Glorious Sunset. Grand Canyon Park entry fee is extra. Elevation - 7,000 feet. The trail is on paved and stone sidewalks or packed gravel along the south rim of the Grand Canyon. In 1932, a conference of Geologist and Park officials decided Yavapai Point has the best views of the Canyon. Along with the spectacular views, the route takes you through Grand Canyon Village with its gift shops, restaurants, historic information, and nature interpretations. An alternate trail goes east from Yavapai Point. This route has fewer people on it and additional breathtaking views. Walk either or both for one event credit.
