Description
Jamie Laval and Zac Leger will present a 2-hour program of traditional music from the Celtic regions of Scotland, Ireland, Bretagne, Galicia, Quebec, and Appalachia.

Jamie Laval's unique approach to traditional Celtic music blends the simplicity of an ancient art form with stunning virtuosity and contemporary flair that resonates with families, youth, seniors, and devotees of ethnic, jazz, and classical music.

Laval is heralded as‚ "One of North America'‚s finest practitioners of traditional Scottish music (San Jose Mercury News) and‚ "The next Alasdair Fraser" (Press and Post). The Asheville Citizen-Times writes, "One of the hottest fiddlers out there‚ this act has been turning heads wherever it plays."‚

A resident of Asheville, North Carolina, Laval began his music career studying classical music at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. In 2002 Laval won the U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Championship and subsequently embarked on a full time touring career which today includes over 120 engagements per year throughout the U.S. and Scotland. He performed for Her Majesty the Queen, on Dave Matthews' album Some Devil, and serves on the faculty of the Swannanoa Gathering. www.JamieLaval.com

Guitarist Zac Leger presently resides in Los Angeles. He tours with the Eileen Ivers Band and Celtic Crossroads and is equally respected for his stunning playing of Uillean pipes, whistle, and the Irish Bouzouki. Last year Zac won the All-Ireland Championship for piping. www.ZacLeger.com
