Documentary Film: "THE PLAYGROUND" by Libby Spears

The recent investigation highlighted in the Glenwood Post last week, has revealed that Glenwood Springs is not sheltered from the child prostitution industry. It's location on the I-70 corridor in fact puts our community at greater risk. In an effort to raise local awareness, the Childhelp River Bridge Multi-Disciplinary team is hosting a screening of the groundbreaking film "The Playground" that looks at the multi-million dollar pedophilia industry. Filmmaker Libby Spears infiltrates the brothels of Asia, then traces the sex trade back to America. Her investigation reveals that it is as easy to buy a child in the US as it is in Asia. The film will be followed by a panel discussion of experts in the field: Annakan Mendoza-Toews, Human Trafficking Project Manager for COVA, Christopher Carter, Special Agent with ICE, Gayle Embrey Producer of the Film and Anne Darr, Victim Advocate with the FBI.
