Death Valley in Winter via Las Vegas - Day 2

This ride will be a 3 day trip to Las Vegas Fri-Sun, with a Saturday day-trip to Death Valley National Park, about 3 hours from Vegas. Both overnights (Fri and Sat nights) will be in Las Vegas with a negotiated room at a reasonable rate hotel along the strip. Friday and Sat nights will be free time in Vegas, with a dinner planned one night at the Harley Davidson cafe on the strip and perhaps a show for some if they choose on one of the nights. Day one & three will be about 300 miles (to and from Phoenix to Vegas), with Death Valley Saturday about 400. Day 2 will be a day trip to Death Valley national Park. Admission fee to the park (for motorcycles) is $10. We will be touring Scotty's Castle, a window into the life and times of the Roaring 20's and Depression 30's. It was and is an engineer's dream home, a wealthy matron's vacation home and a man-of-mystery's hideout and getaway. There is an $11.00 fee for the tour. Along the route in the park we'll also visit Badwater, the lowest point in North America at 282 feet below sea level. Badwater Basin is a surreal landscape of vast salt flats. Link to National Park Service Death Valley site Link to Map of Death valley Upon our return to the Las Vegas strip Saturday evening, for those who wish to, we'll plan on visiting some of the local attractions and perhaps see a show. Daytime temps in Las Vegas and Death Valley will be in the 50's & 60's so bring appropriate motorcycle gear. There will be lots of riding in vast expanses, be prepared to cover some territory at brisk speeds. As always, each rider is responsible for his/her own safety and is expected to ride at his/her own ability. Details will follow.
