Description
Please sign in, pay your entry fee, and get a name badge (so we all get to know one another, and the waiter has a name to create separate checks for everyone). We typically give a $5 prize to the high scorer for the evening and $1 (free entry return) for the evening's low scorer. While we always play for fun, we are slightly competitive just to keep it interesting. Beginners are welcome to come and learn or just to watch. We play Progressive Euchre (see below for details). b]The Event This event has a $1.00 per person fee to help with the expense of playing cards, name tags, and to build a small kitty to offer prizes. This event has Yes or No RSVPs only, so we can give an accurate count to the restaurant. PLEASE: REMEMBER WHEN YOU RSVP, WE COUNT ON YOU TO FILL A TABLE, IT'S NOT FUN TO SIT AND NOT HAVE A PARTNER. The Restaurant NEW LOCATION. Iguana Macks has a happy hour discount (6pm till 7pm, then starting again at 10pm) on selected beverages and food. They have $3 appetizers from 6 to 7pm, so come early and enjoy the food before we get down to playing cards. Check with the waiters for details. This is currently our only restaurant location and the food is great, so we ask everyone support IGUANA MACKS and their kindness is letting us play there all evening by ordering food. About Progressive euchre The basic (Hoyle) rules of Euchre are applied. "Stick the dealer is in"; other variations (e.g., ace-no-face) are out. It's a very easy version once you start playing so don't fret. Basic Rules - each player partners up with several different partners over the course of the night. There are 8 deals per game, every player dealing twice. The players record their total points for the 8 hands before moving on. Typically, losers move on to a new table; winners switch partners and stay at the same table (but this may vary depending on how many players we have sitting out due to a lack of foursomes). Lather, rinse, repeat, until you have been paired with almost all of the players. At the end of the night, we determine the fewest amount of games any individual player has completed, then everybody adds up the number of points they scored (based on that number of games), and the SINGLE PERSON with the most points wins.
