âThis young musician and composer is ⦠creating an entirely new jazz language for the 21st century,â declared the MacArthur Foundation upon awarding saxophonist Miguel Zenón the 2008 MacArthur âgeniusâ grant. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Zenón has toured the world as part of the Kennedy Centerâs Jazz Ambassadors Program.
