Let's hope it's not too cold for a paddle and hike! Bring lunch, sunscreen, bug spray, swim suit, and anything else you will need for a paddle and about an hour's worth of "hiking" through the woods. If you don't have a canoe or kayak, you can rent one from Adventure Outpost or Santa Fe Canoe Outpost. Don't forget to pack a lunch and bring suitable shoes for walking through sand! Meet at the High Springs boat ramp (Boat Ramp Rd. off of 441 in High Springs) at 10:30am and plan to be on the water by or before 11:00. It's about an hour paddle one-way, and then about 30 minutes hiking to Sweetwater Lake. So, around 3 hours round-trip, not including stopping for lunch. If the weather cooperates, this is a lovely day trip. :) If you need directions to the boat ramp, download this PDF map (the High Springs ramp is the last one listed on page 1): http://www.srwmd.state.fl.us/DocumentView.asp?DID=31 If you need the map emailed to you, get in touch with me: Sheila sdhardie @ gmail.com (remove the spaces) [masked] (Text me firstÃÂ-I don't usually answer calls from unknown #'s!)
