it wasn't planned. The goal was to hibernate. Justin Vernon moved to a remote cabin in the woods of Northwestern Wisconsin at the onset of winter. Tailing from the swirling breakup of his long time band, he escaped to the property and surrounded himself with simple work, quiet, and space. He lived there alone for three months, filling his days with wood splitting and other chores around the land. This special time slowly began feeding a bold, uninhibited new musical focus. From the North, take Olive Avenue exit off freeway 99. Turn left on Olive and go East, past Roeding Park two miles into the Tower District to the intersection of Olive and Wishon.From the South, after passing downtown Fresno, take the 168 exit, go 1/2 mile to Van Ness/Fulton exit, once off highway go across Fulton to Van Ness, turn left, go one mile north to Olive, then left to the Theatre at Olive and Wishon.
From the Fresno-Yosemite Int'l Airport, take McKinley Avenue west to Wishon, turn left on Wishon and go 1/2 mile south to the Theatre.
