Start Point Address / Driving Directions:
5 miles south of Franktown on Hwy 83. 303-688-5242 From Castle Rock: I-25 exit 182 east to Hwy 86. Turn east on Hwy 86 to Franktown (7 miles) Turn right on Hwy 83 to park entrance (5 miles) Event Description: M-F 9-4, Sat.-Sun 9-5 Park entry fee of $6 per car. If trail is covered with snow, park may close the trail. Call or check website (www.parks.state.co.us) to verify. This walk has something for everyone! Wheelchair volksmarchers can get credit for 3K on the canyon overlook 6 Km route, which is handicapped accessible. The 6 Km trail is rated 2 because of the trail on the 2nd half. The 11 km is all on dirt paths and rock traverses with significant hills. Elevation changes up and down several times of 300' from 6200 - 6500 feet. Hiking shoes, hiking stick, sunscreen and hat are strongly recommended. You must carry water as no water is available on the trail. Pets must be leashed. Please clean up after your pet.
