Description
Lee Greenwood has captivated audiences for years and surely captivated all of us with his recognizable patriotic song, "God Bless the USA." This song was the CMA Song of the Year in 1985. Greenwood states that this song represents his family, his community, and all of the Americans who are proud of whom they are. Greenwood grew up near Sacramento, California. His musical skills developed early in life and by age seven he was playing the saxophone and by age 14 he could play almost every instrument in the school band. Lee Greenwood says that his choice of song materials has been an asset to his career. He chooses songs that have quality and depth in the lyrics. His hits include: "Ring on Her Finger," "Somebody?s Gonna? Love You," and "Dixie Road." Lee states that his desire in entertainment is "to make the audience happy, because I sing for the joy of it."
