Our goal is to educate, empower, and provide hands-on experience and application with the basic principles of provident living and self-reliance. This group provides a forum for like-minded people to share with each other knowledge and tools to help you and your family feel prepared. Let's get after it! This month, we'll learn about the steps to planting and maintaining a thriving vegetable garden from Diane McFarren. We'll also have the opportunity to see how it's done first hand in a container garden with Kathy Elskamp! This is your chance to get a head-start on Spring with provident living! As we focus on applying provident living skills this year, you will have the opportunity to make an item or learn a new skill at each meeting. Our project this month is a Container Garden. This is an OPTIONAL activity and the material cost is $13.60. Make one along with us, or you can watch how its done at the meeting and make your own. This project is NOT required to attend. The first 72 hours of a major emergency are the most critical, so advises the US Department of Homeland Security. It can take that long for local, state, and federal relief agencies to mobilize food, water, medical supplies and other essentials. So protect yourself, your loved ones, and donÂÂ't forget your pets. Plan ahead, be prepared. Our 'make and take' this month is a 72-hr food kit. This is an optional activity and the material cost has not yet been determined.
