Cowboy Santas is a City of Fort Worth sponsored program that has been in service for over 25 years. The program provides children residing in Fort Worth/Tarrant County households with toys, games, and books at no cost to families who meet the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. The primary goal of Cowboy Santas is to alleviate some of the financial stress affecting low income families and at the same time help to make their holiday brighter.Â
Throughout the holiday season, donations of toys, money, and food items are collected to help sponsor holiday parties at the designated Cowboy Santas location. The toys are distributed at several parties for the families where the children are given an opportunity to meet Santa and enjoy a little holiday spirit.
The Cowboy Santas Program sponsors include:Â U.S. Marine Reservists Toys for Tots, Channel 8 Santa's Helpers, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Reaching Out Club, Downtown Fort Worth, Inc., Sundance Square, Keebler, Texas Sports Officials, private citizens, businesses, as well as the City of Fort Worth Cowtown Elves.
