Who Should Attend?

This course is vital for Shippers, Warehouse Employees, Retailers, Transporters, and required for all employees with duties including shipping, receiving, handling or storage of Hazardous Materials and/or Wastes.

General Awareness HAZMAT training (29CFR Section 1910.120) and Hazard Communications training (29 CFR Section 1910.1200) by themselves may not be enough to prevent costly employee errors.

Current regulations require training (and retraining) of all employees who perform work functions covered by the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR; 49 CFR Parts 171-180). Any employee who works in a shipping, receiving or material handling area or who may be involved in preparing or transporting hazardous materials is required to have training. It is the HAZMAT employer's responsibility to fully comply with the training requirements, Part 172 Subpart H of 49 CFR.

Failure to train employees appropriately may result in civil and/or criminal penalties of up to $27,500 per violation.
