Paddling inside and around Shell Key

I will be in the Keys (camping at Long Key SP) during the Labor Day weekend and thought I would schedule a paddle down there in case you happen to be in the area. Launch Site: MM 79(bayside), paddling time to, around and inside the Key will be appriximately 2 - 2 1/4 hours. To reach the launch site pull off on the bayside at MM 79 near Teatable Bridge. We will paddle out to Shell Key through the shallow water to have a better chance to spot rays, sharks, and baitfish. After we get to the key will will go through a narrow mangrove tunnel for about 5 mins and into a logoon filled with upside down jellyfish. Do not touch them and we are not allowed to set foot on the Key. After coming out of the key we will proceed north into the Shell Key flats where there are wading birds and mangroves. Since this is a short trip, it will allow us time to explore the surrounding areas. If you like after the paddle you can come back to the campsite for something to eat and drink.
