Walking Event:

Mon-Fri, 6am to 9pm; Sat, 9am to 5pm; Sun, 1pm to 5pm. Closed all Federal holidays. Choice of two trails, one event stamp. City trail is rated 1+ and suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. It goes through Riverfront Park, a Lewis and Clark historic site, past Courthouse, and follows trail markers giving details of the history of Leavenworth. The Fort Leavenworth trail is rated 2 and follows historic sites on the Army post including the National Cemetery, Oregon Trail site, the U.S. Command and General Staff College, and the Frontier Army Museum (display here qualifies YRE for Native American Culture program). To access Fort Leavenworth, you will need to pass through the security gate. You will need photo ID and vehicle registration. All vehicles are subject to search at the discretion of the Military Police.
