Description
------------------------------
Workshop summary
This interactive workshop is designed to get students thinking about what they value most in the world. Too often our leaders of today have values instilled within their positions, but they rarely consider how their personal values play into their roles.
By conducting a values card sort and how to find what they value most, students will take away a great amount of personal reflection and knowledge from this workshop. The setting is designed to offer opportunities for students to speak freely about their values and conflicts with their values in a safe environment with other students.
The program begins with students participating in an activity called "Crossing The Line" where they make a yes or no choice based on a certain situation they are given. Discussion leads to the concept of values and what that means to the students.
Many students will have not considered their own values in depth and the values card sort activity provides them an opportunity to critically think about what they value most and how that can apply to a leadership position. The concept of values in conflict and how to resolve that conflict is also discussed.
