ROBERT RICHTER & JESSICA HITCHBORN
7 p.m. | Free | All Ages

Singer-songwriter guitarist Robert Richter and violinist Jessica Hitchborn are energetic performers creating music that blends different genres from folk to blues to Celtic. The duo's passion and energy has entertained audiences all over the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Portlander Richter began teaching himself guitar at the age of 12 when he purchased a Sears Silvertone guitar from a neighbor for $5 and the promise to mow his lawn for a month (he still has the guitar). Over the years Richter has become known as a versatile singer/songwriter and guitarist, his skilled and emotional slide guitar work often working his audiences into "hoots and hollers."

Hitchborn, from Forest Grove, OR is a two-time winner of the Oregon State Fiddler's Competition and competed in the nationals held annually in Weizer, Idaho. She began playing the violin at age 7 and started winning competitions at age 13.

The duo's recently released CD recorded live in studio displays the talent of this duo as they perform not only their original songs but traditional Celtic music dating back centuries performed with passion and energy.

"Robert Richter and Jessica Hitchborn are charismatic entertainers that give there all every time they perform and are stellar musicians." Morry Feldman, WQED-FM Pittsburgh, PA.

In 2007, as a member of the folk rock band "Blue Lightning," Richter performed on the nationally syndicated program "River City Folk." Hosted by folk singer Tom May the program is carried on more than 250 public radio stations and NPR affiliates across the United States. In addition, the band's music was played on the "Bob Dylan Radio Hour" heard on the Sirius Satellite Network and on KUSF-FM in San Francisco.

The duo performs regularly around the Northwest at various festivals and venues.
