Event details: The Marriage of Figaro
Description
"The Marriage of Figaro" was premiered on May 1st, 1786, but it was soon banned in Vienna because of it's satire of the aristocracy. The entertaining story is one of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's most successful works - a story full of misunderstandings and jokes!
Figaro is marrying Susanna. Both are servants of the Count Almaviva, who has an eye on Susanna. The Countess is not at all amused by the escapades of her husband and is trapping the Count with the help of Susanna.
The opera in four acts will be performed by five singers in costumes, accompanied by piano, in the intimate setting of the Anglican Church of Florence, each act will be explained in English.
