About the class: Back bend your way into love and compassionion ! This practice will celebrate all forms of love and our ability to express it openly. We will dive deeply into cultivating an open heart to release physical, emotional, and mental blockages, with the intention to deepen your yoga practice and develop compassion with yourself. Discover your true potential by exploring deep back bending poses in a supportive and fun environment, including full wheel pose and its many variations, one legged king pigeon pose variations, and King Dancer Pose, to name a few. Afterwards, we will indulge our taste buds with some delicious locally made chocolatesto celebrate the holiday of love! About the teacher: Kate, 200 RYT, first discovered yoga in 2002 through a Brian Kest video tape (oh yes, it was a vhs) and fell in love with the practice because it was physically stimulating. After a turbulent two years, Kate enrolled in Yoga 1001 and 1002 at the University of Minnesota in 2005, reconnecting to yoga and diving deeper into the spiritual aspect the practice has to offer. She became a dedicated yogi after taking her first Ashtanga Yoga class in 2006 in Minneapolis because it required strength, dedication, stamina, and involved a form of spiritual and mental discipline that she had not found in anything else. Kate began to notice major changes in how she took care of herself and how she viewed the things and people around her both on and off the mat. Since then, she has been committed to practicing yoga on a daily basis, seeking out various styles, instructors, and information to further develop as a yogi.
