Event details: Libraries to Go: Mobile Tech in Libraries
Description
what can be accomplished with mobile Web applications. We will also take a look at library mobile initiatives, ways to create a mobile experience, and how to get started with the mobile Web.
Objectives/By the end of the session participants will:
• Have a grasp of the current mobile technology landscape
• Know about a diverse array of mobile Web applications
• Know how libraries are using the mobile Web
• Know how they can get started with the mobile Web

Ellyssa Kroski
Ellyssa Kroski is an information consultant, reference librarian, writer and speaker in the field. She is an adjunct faculty member at Long Island University’s Palmer School of Library Science, as well as Pratt Institute, and San Jose State University where she teaches LIS students about emerging technologies. Ellyssa is a published author and has written about Web technologies and their applications in libraries for major library publications including Choice, School Library Journal, and ALA’s Library Technology Reports. Her book Web 2.0 for Librarians and Information Professionals was published in February 2008. She blogs at iLibrarian...Links
