SOME: Thanksgiving Day "Trot for Hunger" with the"Turkey Trotting Trailblazers"

Our team, the "Turkey Trotting Trailblazers" will walk 5 kilometers to raise funds for So Others Might Eat, a community -based nonprofit organization in the District of Columbia. SOME offers a comprehensive, holistic approach to caring for the homeless and extremely poor citizens of Washington DC. I live in VA but I work in DC and want to contribute toward sustainable ways to assist my neighbors in the District. Join me and thousands of others for the 8th Annual Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger on Thursday, November 26th for the "Trot for Hunger" to help the hungry and homeless on Thanksgiving morning. http://www.some.org/events_trot_main.html Where?: The walk is a beautiful trail along the river in West Potomac Park in Washington, DC. The start and finish line are located on Ohio Drive, SW between Independence Avenue, SW and West Basin Drive, SW. SOME provides a shuttle from Metro Center to the Start/Finish line, please visit the website for full details. When?: Our Team name is the "Turkey Trotting Trailblazers" and we will try for the 8:10 am start time depending on Metro schedule (will update). I plan to pick up our registration packet and T-shirts on the 24th. How?: Registration is $23 per person from July 15 - November 16 and $25 per person from November 17 - November 21 for our 5 K walk team "Turkey Trotting Trailblazers" You are encourage to invite your friends and family members to sponsor your walk. Why?: A great way to burn calories, allowing more than one dessert at dinner! Plus, your participation in the Trot for Hunger will help SOME to continue to provide hot, nutritious meals, clothing, medical care and other essentials to the increasing number of homeless and hungry children, women and men.
