Becoming Odyssa - An Appalachian Trail Book Tour

Meet author and 2011 National Geographic Adventurer of the Year, Jennifer Pharr Davis, whose passion for the outdoors began at a young age in the mountains of North Carolina. Her book, "Becoming Odyssa," recounts her solo thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail at the age of 21. She's since trekked over 11,000 trail miles on six continents including the Pacific Crest Trail, Vermont's Long Trail, the Colorado Trail, Mount Kilimanjaro, the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, the 600-mile Bibbulmun Track in Australia, and three completed thru-hikes on the AT. In 2011, Jennifer became the fastest AT thru-hiker, averaging 46.9 miles a day and completing the trail in forty-six days. She is also the author of Three North Carolina Guidebooks and her husband recently published his account of their AT record hike, entitled 46 Days: Keeping up with Jennifer Pharr Davis on the Appalachian Trail."
