Description
The trail mostly consists of sidewalks, paved roads and pathways. Walk route includes Fairborn's Municipal Court, Wright Brothers Huffman Prairie Hike/Bikeway, historic Fairfield Cemetery (gravesite of General Musser), Historic Fairborn Theatre, original Fire Station #1, Mercer-Smith Log Cabin, Osborne Historic District, Dayton Avenue site of Love Lumber Company (where John F. Kennedy made his 1960 whistle stop campaign address), Historic St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the childhood hometown of three-time novelist Katrina Kittle, and the numerous sites of the quaint town of Fairborn. It is suitable for strollers, wagons and wheelchairs. Pets are welcome when accompanied by owner and leashed. (Please do not take them in the start/finish.) Restrooms are available at start/finish. Bring water with you to carry. Event can be walked daily, dawn to dusk, unless restaurant is closed.
