This cracker of a concert features sweeping orchestral music by Mendelssohn, alongside rumbustuous works by Handel, Haydn and Henry VIII as well as more intimate choral and instrumental music from Macmillan and Mathias. The spectacular programme celebrates a host of anniversaries of composers births (Mendelssohn, Matthias and Macmillan), deaths (Haydn and Handel) and even a coronation (Henry VIII).
