Too Hot To Handle

Too Hot to Handle is a high energy musical about climate change for 8 to 12 years olds that uses humour to counteract the apocalyptic scenarios featured in the media and music to inspire the next generation to make a difference.

Synopsis: Somewhere in the not-to-distant future we meet Tom and Jess. They need more than ‘slip slop slap’ for the outside world. Is it really too hot to handle? On their journey to discover what happened to the weather, they encounter an Ad Executive spinning a new jingle, Captain Edit and his trusty companion Backspace Boy who fight the forces of fossil fuels and the foolish Mr Quick and Mr Fix.

Jigsaw commissioned acclaimed cabaret performer (and ABC Radio Presenter), Peter J Casey to write the book and music in response to children’s hopes and fears for their future, with the shows music ranging from jazz to pop/rock to reggae to music theatre.

Too Hot to Handle is a hilarious and at times biting satire for 8 to 12 year olds with toe tapping tunes designed to explore global warming, consumerism and responsibility.
