The Sir Norman Watson Classic is named after Sir Norman Watson, the founder of the Lake Louise Ski Club and the Post Hotel. The event was founded in 1989 by Eric Correll and Lynn Wilson, of Wilson Mountain Sports, in honour of Watson.
