Event details: Silver Works at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria
Description
Initially interested in traditional painting and precise drawing, Don Jean-Louis of Qualaicum Beach, later dramatically shifted his focus, taking an alchemist's approach to the making of art and becoming one of the first artists in Canada to work in new media. By using materials such as black latex and aluminium powder to create chemical reactions, Jean-Louis parallels the process of an image coming into being.
