Description
With over 320 concerts a year, the Salzburger Schlosskonzerte offer one of the world's largest concert series. The concerts are held in the breathtaking Marble Concert Hall of Mirabell Palace, where the young Mozart himself was a frequent performer.
The Salzburger Schlosskonzerte was founded by Prof. Siegfried Hummer in 1954 with the goal of providing the highest level performances of classical music to audiences from near and far. The long list of famous artists who perform in the the series includes Igor Oistrach, Benjamin Schmid, Joerg Demus and Clemens Hagen and internationally acclaimed pianists, trios like the Jerusalem String Trio and Trio Crescendo, excellent duets on violin/cello and piano, and world famous ensembles like Roczek Ensemble, Ensemble CIS, Ensemble Crescendo, and members of the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestras. These are a few of the artists performing favourite works by Mozart and his contemporaries in the Marble Hall at Mirabell Palace.
