Verdi's impassioned opera in four acts based on Shakespeare about a Venetian general, who is tricked into doubting the fidelity of his wife Desdemona. Director Elijah Moshinsky revives his 1987 production as part of the World Shakespeare Festival starring Aleksandrs Antonenko in the title role, under the baton of conductor Antonio Pappano.
