Richie Kavanagh
Richie is certainly no stranger to the irish people and even those from overseas. Perhaps he is best known for his hit single ‘Aon Focal Eile’ a song about learning the Irish language in school, but laced with double meaning. The single was in the top ten charts for over six months and a staggering eight weeks as number one. This won Richie an IRMA award for Best Single Of The Year in Ireland in 1996. Richie says he was inspired to write songs by the travelling showmen who used to tour around the countryside when he was a child in the fifties.
