PMP/CAPM Exam Preparation

This is an exam preparation course for those wishing to obtain a Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) designation. This course will provide participants with the knowledge, study plan and simulated exam experience to successfully pass the exam on their first try. This is a very intensive course that will also provide you with the necessary pre-requisite of 35 project management training hours to qualify to write the professional designation exam.

Course Description:
This course will provide you with the essential knowledge and testing skills to prepare you to pass PMP® and CAPM® exams on your first try. The course focuses on three critical areas:

• Understanding the Project Management Institute's Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge-Fourth Edition (PMBOK® Guide)
• Understanding the Project Management Institute's professional designation exams
• Understanding how to successfully study for the exam

The course content is largely from the Fourth Edition PMBOK® and is augmented with other critical knowledge from leading project management professionals (i.e. Kerzner, Verma, Dinsmore, Pennypacker, etc.) and other sources. This course includes a variety of learning tools and study aids that are consistent with PMI® processes and terminology.

The course has be designed using adult learning techniques that are sensitive to individual learning styles. We will ensure we use the three major learning styles (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic) for all lessons to promote learning in your preferred style.

This course promotes understanding over memorization. Some memorization is highly recommended to adequately prepare for the exam but is limited to the essential information that is required for the exam and nothing more.

This course also coaches participants in effective test taking techniques in order that participants can make the best use of their testing time and not give up marks needlessly because of the test's structure or format.

Participants will enhance their competencies in understanding and applying the Project Management Institute's Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and general project management knowledge from selected texts and academic journal articles.

Instructional Approach:

This course is designed as an intensive 35 hours of class room time in 5 days. The course runs from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. The course is comprised of short lectures, exercises, memory games and practice exams.
