Bamberton clings to the steep mountainside between the Malahat Drive and the picturesque waterfront. This once-active cement factory, port and company townsite quietly waits to unlock its gates and reveal it's past.
Take a 90 minute guided bus and walking tour that tells the compelling story of how this unique community went from Dust to Bust. Stop at the quarry extending 1000 ft into the mountainside, the historic village site and the scenic waterfront. Enjoy fabulous ocean and mountain views. Tours begin at the historic site manager's house that also houses the the Historical Society's museum and documentary movie.
The tour costs $10.00 per person and the theatre show costs $10.00 per person. Do both for the inclusive price of $15.00.
The museum is open every SUNDAY from July 4 to September 26, 2010.
Look for directional signs on Trans Canada Highway. Turn off onto Trowsse Road.
