Measuring an Organisation’s Social Impact & Value

Organisations are faced with a number of challenges that range from the tough economic climate to the changes to customers and service user requirements i.e. personal health budget and changes to those who procure services for the public sector.

The Public Service (social value) Act became law on the 8th March 2012, It requires all public sectors commissioning in the future to consider social value within all future tenders. It defines a requirement for organisations to demonstrate their social, economic and environmental impact on society. Are you able to demonstrate your social value?

 It is essential for you to understand how to demonstrate your value. Do you have a tailored approach to measuring your social impact that demonstrates your social value? Do you know your impact of the local economy, on health, education, employment etc. If not, this training is for you.

An insight into the world of social accounting examines and provides practical tools and tips of how to measure the impact of the organisations activities and the social value it has to stakeholders and society as a whole

  • Gain an understanding of the process for you to create your own tailored impact measurement tool

  • Understand how to engage stakeholders to gain an understanding of the organisations impact

Richard Dickins

Richard has over 15 years experience within the Third and Private sectors at operational and strategic levels and uses this blend of knowledge and experience to assist organisations in becoming sustainable. Richard is trained on Social Return on Investment assessments and sits on the methodology group for the development of the model and LM3. Richard has successfully developed tenders, new businesses and income potential for organisations totalling £45 million during his career. Richard is a Social Enterprise Mentor for Social Enterprise North West and Ultd, an RSA fellow and is a Council Member for Social Enterprise UK and SROI Network.
