Bios
Julien Wolfs learns the harpsichord with his mother Marie-Anne Dachy in the Jodoigne Academy of Belgium. In 2003, he joins the Conservatorium van Amsterdam to study with Menno van Delft, and occasionally with other harpsichord performers of top reputation like Bob van Asperen, Blandine Rannou or Davitt Moroney.
By the time he leaves the Conservatoire in 2009 with a Master’s, Julien has already proven he’s an artist to be reckoned with. His concerts have taken place in venues as prestigious as the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam or the Chapelle Royale de Versailles and have quickly become audience favourites.
This exceptional relationship with the public has been confirmed by the live recording of his recitals commissioned by the Belgian radio station RTBF and several Public Prizes, notably during the 2007 Bruges International Harpsichord Contest, and the 10th Italian International Contest of Chamber Music for best accompanist/basso continuo (where he wins 2 additional awards each time)!
Julien also performs with his own Chamber trio Estampes.
Pawel Siwczak studied harpsichord with Wladyslaw Klosiewicz at the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw before moving to the Royal Academy of Music in London in 2005 to perfect his skills under the tuition of Carole Cerasi, and where he now teaches harpsichord for accompanists.
Pawel has taken part in many master classes with prestigious musicians or conductors specialised in the Baroque area, such as Kenneth Gilbert or Sir John Eliot Gardiner. He has already given numerous concerts in Europe, whether as a solo artist or with orchestras, performing works by Handel, Bach, Rameau or Telemann under the direction of Trevor Pinnock and William Christie.
In just a couple of years, he has amassed a fair number of awards among which the Sir Anthony Lewis Memorial Prize in 2006 and the First Prize of the 8th Broadwood Harpsichord Competition.
Pawel is a member of the Triologue and Four Temperaments ensembles and has recently founded his own early vocal and instrumental group The King’s Private Musick.
