We're our secret selves, we're more than ourselves, we meet ourselves (or at least our alts) coming and going...in virtual worlds like Second Life, that's just the beginning. As the saying goes, It's Complicated. But then, so are we.
Join ethnologist Tom Bukowski, author of "Coming of Age in Second Life," for a conversation about the faceted nature of the self, and what virtual worlds have to teach us about what we've always been.

Tom Boellstorff
Tom Boellstorff is an anthropologist currently based at the University of California, Irvine. In his career to date, his interests have included the anthropology of sexuality, the anthropology of globalization, the anthropology of virtual worlds, Southeast Asian studies, the anthropology of HIV/AIDS, and linguistic anthropology. He is the winner of the Ruth Benedict Prize given by the Society of Lesbian and Gay Anthropologists.Tom Boellstorff tour dates and bio
