Essex Region Children's Water Festival 2019

The Essex Region Children's Water Festival is a curriculum-ased festival for students in Grades 3, 4 and 5 to take part in over 50 hands-on, experiential learning activities.  These activity centres teach water science, water attitudes, water technology and water conservation.   All activities are designed to meet the teaching objectives of the Ontario Curriculum. Pre-registration is required.  Since 2004, the Essex Region Children’s Water Festival has been organized by a committee of volunteers from various environmental agencies, Point Pelee National Park, Unifor locals, school boards, municipalities and others. The committee is extremely grateful to the numerous contributors whom have donated to and continue to support this important event.   FAQs   What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? The Essex Region Children's Water Festival committee raises the funds to pay for bussing, to ensure that all children have equal access to attend this Festival. Teachers are responsible for booking the bus(es) needed, and the bill will be paid for by the Festival.  There is on-site parking for parent chaperones.  What should we bring into the event? Students should bring a lunch, refillable water bottle, sunscreen, a hat and appropriate clothing and footwear. The Water Festival takes place mostly outdoors, so students should dress appropriately. What is the cost? The cost is $7 per student. An invoice will be provided for the number of students registered for the Festival. What resources does the Water Festival provide? Pre and post field trip activities and a Festival Planner for teachers will be provided electronically.  As well, the Water Festival pays for the student bussing, to ensure equal access for all students.
