In doing this, we have the benefit of ease in our day-to-day activities and also help us to move through challenges more calmly. As you practice meditation you experience a clarity and awareness, which gives you the ability to make decisions easier and to see situations in a new light.
I hesitate to use the word meditation. To many the word "meditation" conjures up the picture of a bearded man sitting cross-legged high on a mountain top. The fact is that meditation can be useful for everyone, the busy homemaker, students needing focus to study for an exam, as well as corporate executives.
Mantra is said to be "The Yoga of the Mind". A mantra is a syllable, word or phrase in one of the sacred languages (like Sanskrit & Gurmukhi) and sometimes in English, which elevates or modifies consciousness through its meaning, the sound itself, rhythm, tone, and even the reflexology of the tongue on the roof of the mouth.
Each month we will explore meditations for different purposes: Self Healing, Prosperity, Protection, Relaxation, Breaking Addictions, Overcoming Obstacles to name a few.
There are many different types of Meditation this is one type.
This type of meditation is chanted(like singing). Not to worry if you have never done this before. Try it ! You may like it! I know I was skeptical the first time I tried it, but what I found was that it brought a freedom that I had never experienced before.
Cost: $5.00 (what a deal)
Time: 6:30-7:30 PM
Sundays: Oct. 23, Nov.20, and Dec. 18, 2011 are the upcoming dates.
Place: 236 Dundas St., London, ON
Chairs are available for those who are not able to sit on the floor. There are yoga mats that may be used to sit on if you do not have one for yourself. Bring what ever you feel you need to be comfortable sitting on the floor. You will learn about meditation and practice the meditations during the hour class.
