From Dfest Official Site:Held in Tulsa, OK, Dfest is similar to SXSW music conference and festival in Austin, TX, but is on a much smaller scale and our focus is more music-centric. In showcasing 130+ artists in two evenings, we present the best emerging independent artists in the country including Oklahoma, Regional and National artists. During the day, we also include the conference aspect of the event at our host hotel.
In 2006, our artist showcases, panels, workshops, and clinics were so popular they were standing room only in attendance. Attendees drove from all over Oklahoma and surrounding states including Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico and Louisiana.
On another level, Dfest is also a tool for artists and business people to promote themselves. This can work on the level of unsigned artists looking for various kinds of deals -- record deals, publishing deals, agency deals, management deals -- up to more established artists who are promoting a new project.
By selecting artists as widely as we can in terms of music genres, there's an audience for just about every type of music you can think of.
The Sixth Annual Dfest 2007. The conference panels, clinics and tradeshow will be held at the beautiful downtown DoubleTree Hotel. The festival will showcase over 130 artists in the beautiful BLUE DOME DISTRICT located in the heart of Downtown Tulsa and minutes from the hotel.
