Ain't It Cool News, Austin Voices, SXSW and the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema present:

A special evening with the entire cast of AMERICAN TEEN Thursday, July 10, 7:00 pm, S. Lamar

    ABOUT THE MOVIE:

AMERICAN TEEN is the touching and hilarious Sundance hit that follows the lives of five teenagers - a jock, a popular girl, a heartthrob, an artsy girl and a geek - in one small town in Indiana through their senior year of high school. We see the insecurities, the cliques, the jealousies, the first loves and heartbreaks, and the struggle to make profound decisions about the future.

Filming daily for ten months, filmmaker Nanette Burstein (ON THE ROPES, THE KID STAYS IN THE PICTURE) developed a deep understanding of her subjects. The result is a film that goes beyond the enduring stereotypes of high school to render complex young people trying to find their way into adulthood. With extraordinary intimacy and a great deal of humor, AMERICAN TEEN captures the pressures of growing up - pressures that come from one's peers, one's parents, and not least, oneself.

    ABOUT THE EVENT:

AMERICAN TEEN hits theaters on July 25, but we are offering you a sneak-peak opportunity not only to view the film, but also to meet and hang out with the cast. We'll be screening the film on Thursday, July 10 at 7:00 PM at the Alamo South Lamar. Following the screening we'll have a Q&A with all 5 principal cast members from the film.

The real fun, however, comes the following morning. A select group of attendees will be invited to the AMERICAN TEEN VIP brunch. We'll meet at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar at 10:00 AM and board a school bus along with the 5 cast members and head over to an Austin high school to enjoy a "nouveau school cafeteria" brunch prepared by Alamo executive chef John Bullington.

We have 15 spots available for this very special VIP experience. To get a seat on the bus, email us one of your favorite stories (Trauma, heartbreak or exhilaration, etc.) from your own "American Teen" years. A panel of judges from the Alamo and AICN will choose their 15 favorites and those folks will get tickets to a VIP "nouveau cafeteria" brunch reception with the cast.

You can also simply RSVP to this event by emailing americanteen@originalalamo.com. We will post the RSVP list on Ain't It Cool News, on the Alamo Website and on the Alamo Facebook page by Monday, July 7 at 5 PM CST. Priority admission, of course, will be given to those folks who send in an "American Teen" story. Our favorite submissions will also be posted on Ain't It Cool News and the Alamo Drafthouse site.

Read AICN's Eric Vespe's glowing review of American Teen from this years Sundance Film Festival here.
