Event details: LUCIBEL CRATER OPENER TBD
Description
Lucibel Crater
"It's not easy to sound this fresh without ever sounding contrived, but Lucibel Crater pulls it off effortlessly. 'The Family Album' enacts family values the way they ought to be - emotionally charged, continually surprising, inspiring in their originality and ambition, provocative and fun, noisy and meaningful. And entirely satisfying."
-Anthony DeCurtis: Contributing Editor, Rolling Stone
Lucibel Crater invites you to celebrate with them the release of their debut album, The Family Album, produced by Lucibel, mixed by Bryce Goggin and mastered by Fred Kevorkian. If music can trigger long-abandoned muscle memories, here are 10 short films from American life. Love, lust, struggle, loneliness, and paranoia fill the landscape in the portraits of The Family Album. The layers of sound are both familiar and unsettling, created by over 20 hours of live improvisation and then whittled down to the essence of each player's individual sound.
"her voice - the most evocative and unique that I've heard since Joanna Newsom - is genuine and even more stunning in a live setting."
-Reed Fischer from Paste and Paper Thin Walls
Pepi Ginsberg is a young songwriter from Brooklyn, NY who's debut album, RED, was released late last month on Park the Van records. She is quickly garnering acclaim for her voice and lyrical songwriting. This year Popmatter's Kevin Pearce listed Pepi as SXSW's 'Find of the Festival' and described watching Pepi, saying "the tunes we hear tonight sound like Patti Smith covering Bob Dylan. She soars and warbles, yodels and cracks; her voice belies her youthful looks; structured and strong . . . a vote for Pepi is a vote for excellence.
