This strikes me as possibly irresponsible. I mean...if we actually have the power to change the orbit of the Earth, who's to say we won't screw it up and send ourselves hurdling off into space?

That'd probably be the worst "told ya so" ever...

Ought not World Jump Day occur on what might be the very last ever Global Leap Second? By when the world would need another leap second, a movement to create a new standard might change definitions of civil time and abolish the leap second in favor of leap hours—and frankly i can't sustain a jump that long, nor high, and by when we would need a leap hour, we'll all long since be dead.

Description
From the official website
Attempt to drive planet Earth a new orbit, by letting millions of people jump!

Scientists from the ISA/Munchen (Germany) have published a report which confirms that planet Earth could be driven out of its current orbital rotation by the combined force of human beings jumping. Prof. Hans Niesward and his colleagues at the Department of Gravitationasphysik estimated that it would take a minimum of 600 Million people on the western hemisphere to jump at the same moment.

The scientists incorporated a variety of siesmographic recordings ranging from the impacts of comets (comet "Joulios hitting the surface of the Pacific Ocean, 03 21 2001) to the simultaneous movement of the audience at the 2002 soccer World Cup Final.
