      JAPANESE OBON AND TAIKO FESTIVAL

      JAPANESE OBON AND TAIKO FESTIVAL CELEBRATES 24th YEAR AT ALTON BAKER PARK
      The Japanese American Association of Lane County presents the 24th Annual Obon and Taiko drumming festival on Saturday, July 27 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Alton Baker Park.
      This festival features traditional Japanese dancing, taiko drumming, crafts, and food. Underneath swaying, colorful Japanese lanterns, visitors can participate in Japanese circle dances. Taiko performances by Eugene Taiko and Waka Daiko. Ukulele performance by Iron Mango Orchestra
      The event is free and visitors are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair.
      The event is co-sponsored by the City of Eugene, the Eugene/Springfield Asian Council and Community Alliance of Lane County.
