Ghillie Dhu and the Dhon'ts share an acoustic-but-rockin', traditionally rooted-but-contemporary take on the traditional music of Ireland, Scotland and beyond. Hilary ("have a good weekend or die trying") Jones plays fiddle. Familiar primarily as an electric guitarist (Such Nice People, Rakish Paddy, the Klezmonauts), Hilary trains his chainsaw sound on the fiddle these days, rockin' the jigs and reels. Jeremy ("Avatar") Wegner plays mandolin. A multi-instrumentalist known far and wide for his playing and good vibes in The Sugar Beets, the Klezmonauts, Bindaas, the Laura Kemp Band and others, he wails on Irish tunes as well. Chico ("Death to Tyrants") Schwall, multi-instrumentalist, songpoet, genre-buster and folksinger plays guitar and 'zouk. His new album is called "Then What's It For?" He plays with the Low Tide Drifters, Red Pajamas, Danielson & Schwall, and Chico's Hydrogen Jukebox. Chico fans the flames of discontent and gets to every jam session he can manage. Tempos are brisk, dynamics are happening and a good time is had by all.
