      The third session of America in 1968 explores The Politics of Protest: Campus Unrest and the revolution in college life; Youth-quake & the apotheosis of “The ‘60s”: the positive view “The Greening of America” and the negative view “The Decivilization of America, both wired together by “sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll: music, music, music; The Women’s Movement evolving into radical feminism at the Miss America Pageant; the Fourth Great Awakening: a religious flowering ranging from “born again” Christianity to a deep interest in all Eastern religions and to an undefined spirituality seeking enlightenment; and, blending it all together, McLuhan had it right, modern media: the Medium is the Message. - Class Instructor: Andrew Roth, Ph.D.
