The El Paso performance will feature Diana DeGarmo (who placed second in American Idol Season 3 behind Fantasia Barrino), Kimberley Locke (third place finalist in 2003), David Hernandez from this past year's exciting season, and Chikezie (from American Idol Season 7).
Diana DeGarmo, named after the late Princess Diana of Wales, started performing at the age of five. After gaining recognition on the television show America's Most Talented Kids, Diana auditioned for American Idol, where she placed second behind Fantasia Barrino among 70,000 hopefuls for the American Idol title in Season 3. Diana has continued to enjoy a fruitful career; releasing an album Blue Skies in 2004, debuting the role of Penny Pingleton in the Broadway production of HAIRSPRAY in 2006, and touring with Brooklyn: The Musical in the summer of 2006 with Tony Award-winners Melba Moore and Cleavant Derricks.
Kimberley Locke, has had eight Top 20 Adult Contemporary hits, three #1 Dance hits, and eight #1's across various Billboard charts since placing third in the 2003 American Idol® television series. The Nashville native garnered media attention in 2007 for her participation in Celebrity Fit Club. Locke has also been active in many charities, particularly in raising awareness of HIV/AIDS and breast cancer. Locke's first exposure to working with children living with HIV/AIDS was through her work with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. She has since worked with other organizations, including YouthAIDS, the Davy Foundation and Camp Heartland. In recognition of her extensive charitable efforts as an HIV/AIDS activist, Locke was presented with the Red Ribbon Award in November 2007.
David Hernandez began singing at age six. His grandfather took him on his first audition for a local theater company named Valley Youth Theater. He got one of the lead roles and knew that singing and performing was the only thing out there for him. After becoming a finalist in Season 7 of American Idol, David Hernandez made various appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Today Show, Access Hollywood, TRL, and TV Guide's Idol Tonight. David aspires to have a pop- and R&B-influenced album out by 2009, on which he would write his own songs.
Chikezie began singing at the tender age of 13. Chikezie first auditioned for American Idol, Season 6, where he made it through Hollywood Week though not into the top 24. He returned and successfully auditioned again for Season 7 and made his return to Hollywood. Once there, he beat the competition and became one of the elite top 10 American Idol, Season 7 tour. After his elimination from American Idol on March 26, 2008, Chikezie has made appearances on Live with Regis and Kelly, The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, following a 3 month American Idol Concert tour. Chikezie loves performing. When he is performing, it's always with the intention of lifting people's spirits and entertaining them."
