The BIG Breakthrough! - The Lord Provost's Peoples Concert

eaturing children and young people from The BIG Project in Broomhouse, several choirs and 10 leading professional musicians, including Karine Polwart, in an interactive sing-a-long show, performing uplifting songs and displaying film footage of local children and young people exploring the relevance of these values in their own lives.

We have more in common with Olympic and Paralympic athletes than we might think...the values by which these elite athletes live matter to all of us. The centrepiece of the programme is a newly-commissioned work by singer-songwriter and pianist Kim Edgar, Breakthrough, featuring all of the performers en masse, with a series of themes representing the Olympic rings, which begin to connect, overlap and interweave.
